With an architecturally pleasing exterior, internally the house delights with its unique and characterful rooms. The Manor is able to accommodate 22 guests comfortably, making it an ideal venue for those special family birthdays, anniversaries or celebrations. With ten bedrooms split over two floors, The Manor can cater for various groups, be it three or four families using the rooms as family suites, or individuals and couples sharing a weekend away to relax.
The house has been sensitively restored and has a wealth of original features; including beautiful exposed beams, an original bread oven, Victorian two-seater lavatory, Cheese room and a secret passageway. The Manor and its immediate surroundings are steeped in history. Once inhabited by the local Abbot, The Manor is adjacent to one of the oldest and largest Tithe Barns in England, which is a National Trust site, and the adjoining parish church dates from the 12th century.
On arrival, an enclosed, flagged, courtyard area leads to the main kitchen door, to the right of which you will find the original Cheese room to the Manor, now used as an enormous walk in larder and table tennis table. Outside there are rustic dry stone walls surrounding the lawns and formal parterre, a luxurious Hydrotherapy Spa and barrel sauna, and outbuildings, including a charming stone barn known as Peacock House.
The Manor offers the opportunity for groups to hire a chef for the duration of their stay, as there is a separate catering kitchen adjoining the Dining Hall, with bathroom and bedroom above; eminently suitable for such a requirement.
Despite its faithfulness to the past, The Manor is luxurious and beautifully appointed, with sumptuous furnishings, efficient modern heating and an understated elegant décor. The latest in modern appliances ensure comfort, luxury and effortless relaxation.
For a full breakdown of the rooms and additional pictures please contact our Property Manager, who will be pleased to discuss your requirements and to arrange a viewing to assess suitability.
