Gloucestershire is a county in the south west of England. The county town is the city of Gloucester and other major towns include Tewkesbury, the spa town of Cheltenham, Cirencester with its Roman history, the market towns of Tetbury and Stroud and the hilltop town of Stow-On-The-Wold. The royal residences of Highgrove House & Gatcombe Park are both found in the county.

Gloucestershire incorporates the whole of the Forest Of Dean which is an ancient English woodland. A popular place with walkers as well as those who favour outdoor pursuits such as boating and cycling. To the east of the county is the start of the Cotswold Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The River Severn also flows through Gloucestershire.

Popular attractions include both the Sudeley and Berkeley castles, the mansion and parklands at Dyrham Park, the large parish church of Tewkesbury Abbey, the Tudor estate of Owlpen Manor and for bird enthusiasts, the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust at Slimbridge and Birdland - a wildlife park in Bourton-On-The-Water.
