This is a real island in the middle of a water-skiing lake. Its quirky and fun yet peaceful and relaxing all in the same breath! Fabulous for group bookings. One side of the lake is Hardwick Water Sports and the other side is Waterside Therapy Rooms, home of The Hideaway Clinic. You can fish from the island, chill out in the hot tub or *party in The Wonky Bar. There are 10 double bedrooms, all can be made up as twins plus an epic indoor games room and bar.
The Island comes with two small motor boats. You need to designate two drivers, they must be 25+ and hold a valid drivers license. Prior to arrival video instructions are sent to your drivers and they are greeted on the arrival day to check they are happy and competent with driving the boats. You are then free to be transported to and from the island by your own drivers whenever you wish.
You can swim in the lake next door in season but not in the lake the island sits in as it is a waterskiing lake.

Contact Owner Visit Website"About a year and a half ago, we found The Island on Airbnb and immediately fell in love with it (although we ended up booking directly through The Island website). We instantly knew it was the perfect place for our small, intimate wedding. Adele, the owner, loved the idea and even gave us advice about the legal side of the wedding, as well as recommending the chef we used for the wedding meal (the best meal we’ve ever eaten by the way, the beef cheek was insane, and I’m still dreaming about the sticky toffee pudding, which would have been the highlight of the day if I wasn’t also marrying the love of my life). We arrived at the dock with a minivan and car full of people, bags, and an entire wedding, where we met Lynda, one of the nicest and most helpful people you’ll ever meet. She helped bring over EVERYTHING. She didn’t stop smiling the entire time, even when handed a massive crate full of wedding bits that could easily have been mistaken for being full of concrete. When we got to the island, we were welcomed with cards, flowers, welcome messages, and prosecco to congratulate us and wish us luck for the wedding. It was such a lovely surprise. Even better, all our shopping had been unpacked and put away; the drinks were already chilling in the outdoor beer fridges. The Island had been made all ready for us to instantly start our week in paradise. And how could I forget? They even mowed a love heart into the grass outside the back of the house for us. The Island team are amazing. Our wedding was unbelievable, exactly how we had imagined it so many times. It was the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Magical doesn’t even come close. If you’re trying to decide whether The Island is as good as it looks, it absolutely is. It’s incredible x"
