Hurstone is a wonderful large group holiday cottage in Somerset that sleeps 14 in 7 bedrooms; a self-contained ensuite annexe sleeps another 2 guests at an extra charge. Tucked away off a narrow lane that winds down to the quiet village of Waterrow, the setting is peaceful with views over an unspoilt valley where the River Tone slides along.
Inside is spacious, yet inviting and homely with original centuries old character and interiors that are very much in keeping; outside at the front of the house wisteria climbs lazily up the walls and from the terrace the outlook is of wooded slopes and open fields. The large grounds have well stocked flower beds, mature trees, a gently sloping lawn and a paddock where you can picnic or play outdoor games. At the back of the house there’s a covered area and a gravelled courtyard with a private hot tub.
Within a few miles you’ll find welcoming country pubs, small market towns to browse and family attractions. There are country walks from the doorstep, a fascinating Local Nature Reserve just along the lane, and only a short drive away is Exmoor National Park. Hurstone has a very special quality of its own which is why it’s such a lovely place to stay for dog friendly family holidays in the UK, low key celebrations with your loved ones, happy reunions with friends, and walking breaks. Imagine your favourite aunt has lent you her home in the country, the gentle ambience, the echoes of love and laughter, fresh air and birdsong… This is somewhere to relax, escape and unwind, this is Hurstone.

"10/10 - The owner of the property Chrys was fabulous, friendly, helpful and was part of the reason our stay was superb. Thank you Chrys for making our weekend memorable. We will be back. We made the most of the beautiful property and didn't get up to much. We did visit Dunster on the way home which is worth a visit."
